Personal review
My introduction to Super Junior as a group. I knew them from other times, but never dived in enough to get into their story, their characters, their energy in general. Black Suit was the first song I listened to and wanted to know more about them, since my english was...shit back when the 2ยบ gen was at their peak.
Commenting on the album, it is a solid one. One that made me rethink over kpop albums and the concept of following a group. It isn't as if I didn't listen to full albums, but they never stuck with me for a long time. In that aspect, Play was different. Really liked how they chose the tracks, they compliment each other and showcase their strong points.
Since it's the album with less members in their lineup, the time shared between them is enough to each of them shine a lot.
The album itself has a feeling good, hopeful vibe. Even in a really dark moment for the group, Play and its repackage give good energy with a lot of upbeat music. If I was to describe it, they have a weekend afternoon feeling. Easily an album I would blast ou in a weekend while cleaning my house or out with my friends while in a cafe.
